16-Step Washing Process
This is for those who are curious how the whole process works.
Dirty diapers are washed almost immediately upon return to our warehouse. We use commercial high-efficiency, low water machines, that are energy star rated. Our staff works in circulating shifts almost 24 hours, 5 days per week, washing, sorting and packing in a 5000 sq. ft. laundry facility.
Each bag has a handle at the bottom – less contact with “used” diapers is better for everyone. We shake full bags of diapers poo, pee and all into our washing machines. (Bags are washed separately) Diapers are counted clean, prior to drying and entered into inventory for each client.
Please ensure that only Bear Bottoms diapers and liners are put in your bags. PLEASE do not dispose of Q-tips, wipes, plastic bags etc. Our diapers are washed in a 16-step wash cycle that takes up to 1:20 hours depending on diaper size. We have large commercial machines, that do all the dirty work for us. New technology has put diaper washing into the next generation, with lower than ever water usage, sanitizing cycles and overflow agitation. This means squeaky clean diapers, with no residue, balanced PH and less envornmental impact than ever before. Please note: We have a very low stain ratios. However, Chlorine Bleach may be used in a reclaim wash to save diapers. Diapers that are stained too bad for the service are sold for home use. 20% of all stained diapers are donated to communites services, such as Woman's shelters, and Foster Parents.
